Species of Spaces
Species of Spaces is a typographic response for the book ‘’Species of Spaces’’ by Georges Perec. The aim of this project was to work purely with typography in relation to text.
The concept for this book is to focus on different kinds of blindness, from the ones where people cannot see anything at all to the ones that can, in fact, see partially. The reader gains a full understanding of its blindness. “I don’t think we did go blind, blind but seeing, blind people who can see, but do not see” - José Saramago in “Blindness”. A blind person develops their other senses that makes them aware of everything around them. This juxtaposes the ungratefulness that some people with the capacity of all five senses possess.
The book is composed by Braile embossed on a translucid paper.
